Circus Sarasota @ Miromar Outlets
Remember going on family trips to the circus? Well now the circus is coming to you! Circus Sarasota, a non-profit circus world renowned for top quality performances will be performing at the Miromar Outlets at 7pm today. See the talented individuals juggle, balance, and show off their amazing skills to a packed audience.
Founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1997 by Pedro Reis and Dolly Jacob, Circus Sarasota is committed to broadening the artistic contribution of circus, while raising the level and perception of the American Circus to that of the other fine arts. Tickets are $10 for grandstand seating, $40 for reserved seating and $45 for ringside-reserved seating.
Cabaret @ Sugden Community Theatre
The 8-time Tony Award winning and 8-time Academy Award winning play “Cabaret” is coming to Naples! The 1966 Broadway production became a hit and spawned an acclaimed 1972 film as well as numerous subsequent productions.
Set in 1929-1930 Berlin on the eve of the Nazis' rise to power, it focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and mostly revolves around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with young American writer, Cliff Bradshaw. The lavish and sexy costumes, award winning script, and the over 30 performers in this cast are only a few of the many reasons you should see this show. Alonzo enjoys the "Def-Jam" comedians, but for his comedy to ring true he has to draw on his own experiences, being raised in the "middle-class hood".
