Wine throwdown

Decanted is challenging its suppliers to display the best wines in Florida from 6 to 8 p.m. today at 1410 Pine Ridge Road, Naples. Four wines (two wines at $25 each; one at $50; and one in an open category) will be displayed by each supplier. Customers will be able to purchase any of the wines poured at a discounted price. The event is $10 per person. Reservations are requested. Information: 434-1814

Wine tasting

Haskell’s will have a wine tasting of 25 to 35 wines from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 2021 Pine Ridge Road, Naples. $10, includes a $5 coupon for any purchase that evening. Reservations: 254-1120

Lilly Pulitzer weekend

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort is having a Lilly Pulitzer Weekend at 9891 Gulf Shore Drive, Naples. Enjoy the Pink Lilly and Key Lime mojitos, Lilly-inspired cocktails, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Baleen bar and outside terrace. On Sunday celebrate Valentine’s Day with the kids from 11:30 to 3 p.m. at a Lilly juice bar, a raffle with Lilly prizes and a coloring contest. Lilly Pulitzer clothing is available at the hotel’s gift shop. Information: 597-3123

Valentine’s Day

Here are dining spots that are offering special Valentine’s Day fare on Sunday.

* Bamboo Cafe, 755 12th Ave. S., Naples, is having a four-course dinner with champagne for $78 per person with Richard Ries on piano. Reservations: 263-6979

* Bistro 821 has a Valentine’s Day dinner special, with a class of wine, for $40 per person at 821 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. Reservations: 261-5821

* Brio Tuscan Grille, Waterside Shops, 5505 U.S. 41 N., Naples, is offering a Valentine’s menu starting after 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Appetizers and entrees range from $11.95 to $26.95 and dessert for two is $9.95. Reservations: 593-5319

* Cafe Lunam 467 Fifth Ave. S., Naples, has a “sweetheart of a deal” with two dinners a bottle of wine and one dessert for $29.99. Reservations: 213-2212

* Caffe dell’Amore offers a sunset seating at 5 to 5:30 p.m. or a late seating from 7:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday for a special dinner at $79 per person. The restaurant is at 1400 Gulf Shore Blvd. N., Naples. Reservations required: 261-1389

* Ciao Ristorante offers romantic special seatings at 5:30 to 6 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 835 Fourth Ave. S., Naples. Reservations: 263-3889

* Evoo offers a four-course tasting menu Saturday and Sunday for $65 per person at 13240 U.S. 41 N., Naples. Reservations: 444-2020

* Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar offers sharing menu for two in addition to its regular menu on Sunday. Dine Friday through Sunday and receive a $25 Fleming’s card for future use. Reservations: 598-2424

* Jolly Cricket is celebrating Valentine’s Day Friday through Sunday with a special menu and entertainment at 720 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. Reservations: 304-9460

* M Waterfront Grill, Village on Venetian Bay, 4360 Gulf Shore Blvd., Naples, will be open for brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. A special three-course dinner menu is $75 per person. Reservations: 262-2707

* Patric’s is taking reservations for a special menu for $65 per person from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at 1485 Pine Ridge Road, Naples. Reservations: 304-9754.

* Pizzaiolis at the Collection of Vanderbilt, 2359 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, features a three-course dinner for two for $60 or the choice of the regular menu. Reservations: 591-8600

* Roy’s Naples Valentine’s Day menu is on Sunday, but diners Friday through Sunday get a gift of a $20 bonus card for a future visit. Visit at 475 Bayfront Place. Reservations: 261-1416

* Tony’s C Place, 842 Neapolitan Way, Naples, offers three different entrees with sides and a choice of dessert for two to take out by executive chef Annie Prizzi: shrimp scampi, $34.99; rack of lamb, $40.99; or beef Wellington, $54.99. Call 331-8056.

Mardi Gras

Celebrate Mardi Gras at these restaurants:

Champagne brunch

Early dining

The Real Seafood Co. offers a three-course early dining menu for $24.95 per person from 4 to 5:30 p.m. daily. A free bottle of house wine will be given with every two dinners. The restaurant is at 8960 Fontana del sol Way (off Vanderbilt Beach Road), Naples. Reservations: (888) 456-3463

Wine and food fest

The Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest is planning its chef and vintner dinners in homes from Fort Myers to Naples on Feb. 26 and a tasting and auction on Feb. 27 at the Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, 10160 Miromar Lakes Blvd., Beachside, Estero. Some chef dinners are available from $500 to $1,000 by calling (239) 278-3900 and some tickets for the tasting and auction are available for $300 by sending a check to SWFL Children’s Charities Inc., 12881 Terabella Way, Fort Myers, FL 33912. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
