Give and receive
Stein Mart is having a “Give and Receive event” from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Saturday at 8811 U.S. 41 N., Naples. Bring gently used, clean garments to the store and receive up to four coupons for 20 percent off any item. The clothing will be donated to the Salvation Army. Information: 514-0535
Book fair
K is for Kids Foundation will sponsor a book fair with face painting, a scavenger hunt and local authors signing and reading passages from their books from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble Booksellers. The foundation will also receive a percentage of proceeds during that time when you tell the cashier that you support K for Kids. The store is at Waterside Shops, 5377 U.S. 41 N., Naples.
Garage sale/pancake breakfast
A garage sale and pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Goodland Community Center, 417 E. Mango Ave., Goodland. Raffles will also be sold. $5, adults; $3, children.
Casino night
Local charities will benefit from a casino night from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort, 5001 Coconut Point Road, Bonita Springs. $100. Information: 277-3651
Lunch to benefit employees
Two employees of Naples-based Culinary Concepts restaurants were involved in a motorcycle accident resulting in the death of one and severe injuries to another. Proceeds from lunch from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday will be given to the families. Reservations: 262-5787
Table talk
Jen’s Kids Fund, a fund that supports the renovation of the general pediatrics wing at the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, will benefit from a “Table Talk” at 11 a.m. March 16 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, 5001 Coconut Point Road, Bonita Springs. Table Talk is lunch and talks from Janet Evanovich, author; Karna Bodman, news anchor; Phil Beuth, retired president of “Good Morning America”; Lucas Centure, glass artisan and others. $75. GOP fundraiser
“This is the Beginning,” a fundraiser for the Southwest Florida Federated Republican Women, will be at 11:30 a.m. March 18 at the Bay Club at the Colony, 5200 Pelican Colony Blvd., Bonita Springs. Get in shape, help a charity
* Barbara’s Friends Celebrity Tennis event will be Friday with the Marquis tennis match and a meet-and-greet session with the professionals on Saturday at Bonita Bay, Bonita Springs. $50, Marquis tennis match; $100, Taste of the Town cocktail party and auction’ $700 full day participation. * The Miracle Limbs-Courage in Motion bike ride registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the first ride starting at 7 a.m., Saturday. * A casino night with dinner and dancing sponsored by C&G Technologies will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 13 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, 2600 Tiburon Drive, Naples to provide cancer patients in Collier and Lee counties with financial assistance. The 21st Century Cancer Assistance Research and Education and the NCH Healthcare Foundation have combined their efforts to offer financial assistance to cancer patients in need of immediate help. $275. * “Focus on CHS,” a fundraiser for CHS Health Care Foundation, features an exhibit of four photographers from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 14 at Sugden Theatre, 701 Fifth Ave. S., Naples. * Company members of “Little House on the Prairie, the Musical,” playing at the Philharmonic Center next week, will help build a Habitat for Humanity house on March 10.
* The Rally for a Cure at the Pelican Sound Golf and River Club, Estero, earned $47,350 for Komen for the Cure and $3,550 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
