Description: The restaurant: Naples Tomato has been the recipient of too many accolades to count, and has quickly become one of the must-visit restaurants in Southwest Florida, in no small part to national attention bestowed upon them by the New York Times.
The restaurant defines itself as American Neapolitan, leveraging Italian techniques using local ingredients, and typical menu items include Italian classics such as lasagna, pasta with vodka sauce and linguini with meatballs. The North Naples eatery also features a unique selection of seafood and stuffed pasta dishes, including a decadent twist on black truffle ravioli. A broad array of sandwiches and salads round out the menu for those who wish to eat a little lighter, and the restaurant offers a surprising number of low-carb options. The restaurant recently extended its offerings to include brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Menu items range from interesting salad combinations, including bresciola carpaccio and octopus salad to pastas and of course, more familiar egg dishes and French toast. Though it’s been in use since November, diners should remember that the adjacent wine bar is self-serve, enabling visitors to use pre-paid cards to access up to 48 different wines by the glass, each offered in a 1-, 3- or 6-ounce pour. Prices range from less than $2 for a 1-ounce pour, up to $100 for an exclusive 6-ounce pour.
