Heather Harkins has been with the Naples Daily News since February 2007. While she started as a Sports Intern, she soon became an integral part of Studio 55 as a Production Assistant and then Assistant Director. Harkins is now the Director and enjoys producing the daily vodcasts.

Heather also contributes to PrepZone Playbook, the web-based sports vodcast on naplesnews.com and has contributed to coastalbeat.com, the entertainment site.
Heather grew up in Kansas City, Kan. and initially wanted to do forensic science. She starting out majoring in chemistry, but ended up graduating with a degree from the University of Kansas in sociology and a minor in history.
Heather is a huge Kansas Jayhawks fan and follows them closely in both football and men's basketball. She also enjoys playing soccer and golf, listening to rock and roll music, and dabbling in astronomy.
